Hey Slay-O-Neers!™ HAPPY SCREAMING SATURDAY! HAPPY HALLOWEEN! We are finishing up our challenge today by SLAYING two fears! To kick it off we are on DAY TWENTY of our “FRIGHTFUL 21-DAY CHALLENGE™"☠️🎃👻

Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST!

Today’s personal fear is the "FEAR OF DARKNESS". This fear is considered to be an extreme fear of the night or darkness that can cause anxiety and depression. Being afraid of the dark often starts in childhood and is viewed as a normal part of development. This fear is triggered by the brain's disfigured perception of what would or could happen in the dark.  ☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1) BREATH IN BREATH OUT! Learning relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing helps. (Turn some calming music on, lay down and breath!)

2) EXPOSURE! Put yourself in dark environments in small, incremental, non-threatening doses. (Try to sit in your bathroom in the dark!) 

3) THERAPY IS OUR BFF! One-on-one talk therapy, family therapy, or group therapy is always good. (Choose one and go for it!)

4) GET A PRESCRIPTION! Medication for anti-anxiety and antidepressant helps. (There is no shame in this!)

Day 19 (Fear of Marriage)

Hey Slay-O-Neers!™ HAPPY FRIGHTENING FRIDAY! IT'S THE WEEKEND! We are winding down on our challenge and as promised earlier this week, tomorrow we are DOUBLING UP to complete the challenge! Tonight we are on DAY NINETEEN of our “FRIGHTFUL 21-DAY CHALLENGE™" ☠️🎃👻

Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST!

Today’s personal fear is the "FEAR OF BEING MARRIAGE".  This fear is also associated with the "FEAR OF COMMITMENT" and is defined as "IRRATIONAL" and for those who have this fear, feel as if it is the scariest thing in the world! This fear can be caused by having divorced parents, witnessing an unhappy marriage or pre-existing mental conditions such as anxiety or OCD. This fear causes people to drift away from relationships and get real nervous if the topic of marriage is brought up.☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1) TRUST! You have to be able to trust others while maintaining your own self-confidence. (This is very hard, but you can do it!)

2) DON'T BE BIASED! Don't ignore the negative patterns you see around you. (Pay attention to everything!) 

3) KNOW YOURSELF & PARTNER! You should be able to share things about yourself with your partner. (Play TRUTH OR TRUTH often!)

4) FOCUS ON THE MEANING OF MARRIAGE! Figure out how you define marriage and what you want out of it and be open with your partner about it. (Make a list and check it twice!)

5) TALK IT OUT! If you think you are not able to overcome your fear, speaking with a professional is always an option. (Make am appointment!)

Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST!

Today’s personal fear is "FEAR OF PUBLIC SPEAKING". This fear is a common fear of anxiety. It can range from slight nervousness to paralyzing fear and panic. Most people avoid public speaking that have this fear, however others just suffer through it with signs of a shaky voice and sweaty hands.   ☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1) JUST DO IT! Facing this fear head on is the only way to conquer it. (Take a Public speaking class!)

2) PREPARATION + PRACTICE = PERFECTION!  As long as you prepare for a speech and practice what you are going to say, you will always have perfection. (P+P=P)

3) HAVE TRICKS UP YOUR SLEEVE! There is more than one way to skin a cat. (Create a slide show so that you don't have to talk as much!)

Hey Slay-O-Neers!™ HAPPY TREMBLING THURSDAY! As promised earlier this week we are DOUBLING UP today! So this evening you will receive TWO fears to SLAY... SO LET'S GET IT!! We are on DAY SEVENTEEN of our “FRIGHTFUL 21-DAY CHALLENGE™" ☠️🎃👻

Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST!

Today’s personal fear is "FEAR OF BEING TOUCHED". This fear is characterized as an anxiety disorder and can cause a person to cringe inside when they receive an unwanted hug. This fear can be paralyzing and can have devastating effects on a person if it goes untreated. This fear can cause severe panic attacks, hives, fainting, nausea and hyperventilation.  ☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1) EXPOSURE! A trained therapist would have you TOUCHED in a safe environment. (Get back on the couch!)

2) MEDICATION! This is a condition that can require antidepressants. (If you can get them... TAKE THEM!)

Day 16 (Fear of Snakes)

Hey Slay-O-Neers!™ HAPPY WIGGLY WEDNESDAY! Today is DAY SIXTEEN of our “FRIGHTFUL 21-DAY CHALLENGE™". ☠️🎃👻

Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST! 

Todays personal fear is "FEAR OF SNAKES". This fear comes from life events that may have came from a snake attack or just reading about a attack or watching a movie with snake attacks. Someone who has this fear will experience hyperventilating, crying, shaking, increased heart rate/body temperature, sweating and unable to function until the actual snake (or image) is removed.   ☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1) FACE THE PROBLEM! To get over this fear you have to expose yourself to a snake. If you go visit a therapist this is what they will suggest, they may provide the option of watching a movie about snakes, but most will say interact with a live snake. (Visit a pet shop or zoo where the snakes are contained)

*** A interesting fact about snakes is they HATE the smell of ammonia and if you have a snake issue you can spray ammonia around your the perimeter of your home or dampen some clothes with ammonia and put them in a unsealed bag outside, to keep the snakes away. ***

Day 15 (Fear of Water)

Hey Slay-O-Neers!™ We are moving right along! As promised... This is our second fear we are SLAYING on this TERRIFYING TUESDAY! This is considered DAY FIFTEEN of our “FRIGHTFUL 21-DAY CHALLENGE™". ☠️🎃👻

Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST!

Since the last fear was so BLOODY and MESSY... Let's clean it up a bit! This personal fear is "FEAR OF WATER". This fear is defined as "IRRATIONAL" as well and normally does not cause much danger. Most people with this fear get anxiety around any source of water such as; swimming pools, oceans, lakes and even bathtubs. This fear causes panic attacks, it impacts a person's ability to socialize or function and causes a persistent avoidance of water. A person will have a rapid heartbeat, sweating, chills, shallow breathing, dizziness, nausea and dry mouth when confronted with this fear. ☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1) THERE'S NO SHAME! Don't be embarrassed about this fear. (This is not the time for flight/fight mode!)

2) ESTABLISH TRUST! Find someone that takes your fear serious to help you conquer this fear. (Sign up for swimming lessons!)  

3) EDUCATE YOURSELF! By knowing what happens when water enters your nose, eyes and mouth you take back your power. (Read a book on 'Demystifying' water!)

4) RELAX YOURSELF! Practicing breathing techniques prior to getting in water helps relax you. (Breathe in... Breathe out... Now count to ten!)

5) GO SLOW! There is no need to rush yourself through this process and accept that it is indeed, a process. (Start by just, sticking your feet in the water!)

Hey Slay-O-Neers!™ HAPPY TERRIFYING TUESDAY! As advised on yesterday we are DOUBLING UP on a few days this week to complete our challenge by the end of the month. So today you will receive TWO fears to SLAY... And I know we can do it because we are SLAY-O-NEERS™! We are on DAY FOURTEEN of our FRIGHTFUL 21-DAY CHALLENGE™" ☠️🎃👻

Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST!

Today’s personal fear is "FEAR OF BLOOD". This fear has been defined as "IRRATIONAL" and in the category of "SPECIFIC PHOBIA" that stems from blood-injection-injury.  This fear causes increased blood pressure and heart rate. It can also cause paleness and weakness to the point that one may faint. This also fear also causes other fears such as: fear of needles, dentist/doctors and movies with blood in them.  ☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1) SPEAK UP! Put your embarrassment to the side and communicate to someone that you have this fear. (Start by having a talk with your phlebotomist/doctor!)

2) DISTRACTION! Refocus your eyes and thoughts on something other than the blood. (Engage is a conversation with a friend!)

3) SEE SOMEONE! A skilled therapist can provide proper treatment. (i.e. medications or hypnosis!)

Day 13 (Fear of Thunder & Lightning)

Hey Slay-O-Neers!™ HAPPY MORBID MONDAY! I hope you all have enjoyed your past week off... I know I certainly did! However, Now... WE HAVE WORK TO DO! We are on DAY THIRTEEN of our “FRIGHTFUL 21-DAY CHALLENGE™" and due to the break we will be doubling up a couple of days to complete our challenge by the end of the month! SO... GRAB YOUR UTENSILS... WE'RE DIGGING IN! ☠️🎃👻

Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST!

Today’s personal fear is "FEAR OF THUNDER & LIGHTNING". Individuals with a family history of anxiety and depression normally have this fear. This fear is also caused from experiencing a weather-related trauma. This fear causes panic attacks that include: body shaking, chest pains, numbness, nausea, heart palpitations and trouble breathing. One also may feel the need to always monitor storms or need to hide during a storm. ☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1) BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY! Familiarize yourself on lightning safety. (Google: How to stay safe during a storm!)

2) STAY PREPARED! Checking the weather ahead of time helps you prepare for the day. (Download a Weather App on your phone!)

3) MEDITATE! Lay in your bed with a heavy blanket and close your eyes and breath deeply. (Say a prayer for peace and comfort!)

4) GET SOME HELP! Professional therapy is always an option. (Find a Therapist ASAP!)

Hey Slay-O-Neers!™ HAPPY FEARFUL FRIDAY! We are on DAY TWELVE of our “FRIGHTFUL 21-DAY CHALLENGE!™" ☠️🎃👻

Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST!

Today’s personal fear is "FEAR OF MISSING OUT!" (FOMO)

This is a fear I think we all have at this point! This fear is actually a social anxiety that stems from unhappiness and a person believing others may be having fun without them and they feel the need to stay connected to others at all times, in some shape, form or fashion. It causes a sense of envy, jealousy and affects one's self-esteem. The main thing it does is it keeps a person on social media... CHECKING AND... CHECKING AND... CHECKING AND... CHECKING! ☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1) FACEBOOK IS AN ILLUSION! This social media platform does not provide a very well-rounded picture of people's lives. (People only share the exciting & good things!)

2) HAPPINESS IS WITHIN! Looking on social media for happiness is a BAD IDEA and that is the last place you will find it. (Spend some time with yourself!)

3) BE GRATEFUL! Sounds simple... and it is! What great things have you been taking for granted? (i.e. Home? Family? Friends? Job? Health?)

4) DETACH FROM SOCIAL MEDIA! Social media is not evil, but it's ABSOLUTELY not good for FOMO, which is UNHAPPINESS. (SEE DELICIOUS TIP #1!)

Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST!

Today’s personal fear is "FEAR OF REJECTION"! This fear hurts and the pain can cut pretty deep! Most want to belong and connect with those, whom they care about. When this 'want' is not reciprocated the pain that one feels when they are physically hurt can be equal to the pain from rejection. This fear can be developed as a child due to neglectful or critical parents, being bullied and teased by one's peers, or being criticized and rejected by a partner. It has also been known to be genetic. This fear causes depression, low self-esteem, avoidance of social settings, fear of failure, hopelessness, approval-seeking behavior, anger, aggression and overly high expectations of self. ☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1) YOU HAVE NOT BECAUSE YOU ASK NOT! You don't know what the outcome is unless your try. (Go ask for that raise at work!)

2) FIND ANOTHER SOLUTION! There is more than one way to skin a cat. (If you get turned down for one date, ask someone else out!)

Hey Slay-O-Neers!™ HAPPY SUPERSTITIOUS SUNDAY! We're on DAY TEN of the “FRIGHTFUL 21-DAY CHALLENGE!™" ☠️🎃👻

Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST!

Today’s personal fear is "FEAR OF SMALL SPACES"! This fear is defined as "Irrational" and it is the breeder of other phobias such as Claustrophobia and Specific-Phobia, which is a fear of different objects (i.e. Needles). This fear can stem from being Bullied, Abused or Stuck in a tiny space at some point. Symptoms of this fear are: Shortness of Breath, Sweating, Nausea, Dizziness, Dry Mouth, Hyperventilation, Confusion, Chest Pains, Numbness and the Urge to Use the Restroom. ☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1) THE COUCH IS OUR BFF! If you haven't figured it out by now, THERAPY HELPS WITH EVERYTHING! (Get ready to do the work! )

2) BREATH! This allows your body to calm down naturally. (Take deep breaths as long as you need to!)

3) FOCUS! Find something SAFE to focus on. (Look at the time on your watch!)

4) REMEMBER! Remind yourself that your anxiety is going to pass. (Nothing lasts forever!)

5) CHALLENGE THE FEAR! Tell the fear it's "IRRATIONAL". (I know you are not real!)

6) AGAIN! Medication, medication, medication, medication, medication. (It works!)

Hey Slay-O-Neers!™ HAPPY FRANTIC FRIDAY! We're on DAY NINE of the “FRIGHTFUL 21-DAY CHALLENGE!™" ☠️🎃👻

Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST!

Today’s personal fear is "FEAR OF SPIDERS" This fear is actually a "LEARNED" fear. Most people develop this fear when they see the reaction of another person that is afraid of spiders. This fear is also one of the most common fears in the world and can also be cultural. In some countries, large spiders are known to represent "EVIL". This fear causes Dizziness, Trembling, Sweating, Hot/Cold Flashes, Rapid Heart Rate, Chest Pains, Nausea, Crying and feelings of Losing Control. ☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1) THE COUCH IS CALLING YOU! If you haven't figured it out by now, THERAPY HELPS WITH EVERYTHING! (Book a session!)

2) REGROUP AND REFOCUS! Relaxing and heavy breathing is very calming. (Stop... Close your eyes... Breath...  and Count to 10, 50, or 100!)

3) EXPOSURE! You have to start somewhere! Don't start BIG, but start small. (Watch a movie or documentary about SPIDERS!)

4) MEDICATION! When all else fails, a PRESCRIPTION is always an option! (The question is... HOW MUCH OR HOW MANY DO YOU NEED!)

*** FACE IT... These little creatures are not going anywhere so you may as well become your own exterminator and KILL THIS FEAR!

Hey Slay-O-Neers!™ HAPPY TAUNTING THURSDAY! We're on DAY EIGHT of the “FRIGHTFUL 21-DAY CHALLENGE!™" ☠️🎃👻

Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST!

Today’s personal fear is "FEAR OF FAILURE" This fear can be linked to a number of causes, however the main one is having critical parents that are non-supportive! It also ties in with the fear of shame and embarrassment. This fear causes feelings of Unworthiness, Anxiety, Low Self-Esteem, Procrastination and some feel as if they would be better off dying (suicidal). ☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1) RE-STRATEGIZE GOALS! Shift your life goals just a bit and learn something new to help you hit that goal. (Take a class on HOW TO EARN $100K in 6 months!)

2)PREPARE FOR OBSTACLES! When "Obstacles" are already part of your plan they don't come as a surprise. (Everyone needs a little dirt to grow!)

Hey Slay-O-Neers!™ HAPPY WICKED WEDNESDAY! Today is DAY SEVEN of our “FRIGHTFUL 21-DAY CHALLENGE!™" ☠️🎃👻

Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST!

Today’s personal fear is "FEAR OF ABANDONMENT" This fear is a fear that usually shows up in a romantic relationship and it stems from "BAD" childhood experiences. This fear can cause a person to have feelings of: Insecurity, Emptiness, Instability,  Clinginess, Neediness, Mood Changes and Relationship Conflict. In some severe cases a person may cut themselves off completely from everything and everyone... or do the opposite and cling to everything and everyone!  ☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1) BE AUTHENTIC!  have this fear. (Know the warning signs that you are not being truthful with yourself!)

2)SHOW R-E-S-P-E-C-T! Don't offend others by forcing your insecurities on them. (Even if that person is YOU!)

3) BEGIN TO MATURE! Be accepting of everything and everyone that challenges you to grow. (Stay in YOUR lane!)

4) WALK IN SELF-CONFIDENCE! Know that everything happens for a reason. (NO MATTER WHAT... You are always in the right place at the right time!)

5) SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE! Only do what brings YOU joy and happiness. (STOP stealing your own time!)

6) SHOW YOURSELF SOME LOVE! Separate yourself from ANYTHING/ANYONE that is bad for your health. (That means; FOOD, THINGS, PEOPLE & SITUATIONS!)

**** The main key to SLAYING this fear is LOVING YOURSELF! Once you can look in the mirror and can truly tell yourself I LOVE YOU this fear will be NON-EXISTING!

Hey Slay-O-Neers!™ HAPPY TRICKY TUESDAY! We are now on DAY SIX of our “FRIGHTFUL 21-DAY CHALLENGE!™" ☠️🎃👻

Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST!

Today’s personal fear is "FEAR OF FLYING!" This fear actually stems from other fears such as fear of: Heights, Crowds and Closed-In Spaces. Sometimes this fear also comes from a "Bad" flight experience, watching the news or just hearing other's experiences and fears. This fear can cause a range of Physical and Emotional issues like; Cold Hands, Heart Palpitations, Trembling, Nausea, Shortness of Breath, Choking, Anxiety, Panic and Depression. ☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1. GET/STAY ON THE COUCH! Speak with a professional therapist so they can guide to what you need to do next. (I know this sounds harsh but it's necessary and there is no shame in it!)

2. TAKE A HIT! Anti-anxiety medications and herbal options can help manage symptoms before and during a flight. (Speak with your therapist to prescribe the BEST option for you... It is available for a reason!)

** 1 & 2 tend to work best when done together, in order to TREAT this fear. Also there are 2 types of Therapy for this Fear: EXPOSURE and COGNITIVE. 

3) BE HONEST! You have to acknowledge that this fear is present. (Honesty helps in EVERY situation!)

4) EDUCATE YOURSELF! Knowledge is power when it comes to conquering ANY fear! (Take a course or read a book about SAFETY on a plane!) 

5) SET TRAVEL GOALS! Think of a place or person you want to visit. (Plan this trip, book your flight and GET ON THAT PLANE!)

6) ASK FOR HELP! There is no reason you  should SLAY this fear alone. (You will be surprised how many people share this fear with you!)

Today’s personal fear is "FEAR OF HEIGHTS!" This fear attcks people physically and mentally! It can cause Extreme Sweating, Chest Pain, Increased Heart Palpitations, Temporary Paralysis, Anxiety and Avoidance ☠️🎃👻

Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻

1. GET ON THE COUCH! Speak with a professional therapist so they can guide to what you need to do next. (Sir or Ma'am... there is no shame in this!)

2. EXPOSE YOURSELF! Start doing fun activities that require you to be high off the ground. (Treat yourself and a friend to a brunch date on a downtown rooftop!)

3. TAKE A HIT! Sometimes sedatives, beta-blockers and herbal options are used for short-term relief of the panic and anxiety. (Choose the BEST option for you.. Just make sure it is legal!)

4. LOOSEN UP! Practice taking deep breaths and meditation. (Relax! Get your YOGA on!)

3. DATE YOURSELF! Start making reservations and take yourself on a date (Olive Garden - Party of 1 'cause I rock!)

4. ENJOY YOUR OWN COMPANY! Identify 3 things you love about you and enjoy the "ME" Time (I love rom-coms, I love the lake, I love long walks).
