Hey Slay-O-Neers!™ HAPPY TRICKY TUESDAY! We are now on DAY SIX of our “FRIGHTFUL 21-DAY CHALLENGE!™" ☠️🎃👻
Our goal for October is to SLAY our FEARS and put them to REST!
Today’s personal fear is "FEAR OF FLYING!" This fear actually stems from other fears such as fear of: Heights, Crowds and Closed-In Spaces. Sometimes this fear also comes from a "Bad" flight experience, watching the news or just hearing other's experiences and fears. This fear can cause a range of Physical and Emotional issues like; Cold Hands, Heart Palpitations, Trembling, Nausea, Shortness of Breath, Choking, Anxiety, Panic and Depression. ☠️🎃👻
Delicious Directions: How to SLAY THIS FEAR! ☠️🎃👻
1. GET/STAY ON THE COUCH! Speak with a professional therapist so they can guide to what you need to do next. (I know this sounds harsh but it's necessary and there is no shame in it!)
2. TAKE A HIT! Anti-anxiety medications and herbal options can help manage symptoms before and during a flight. (Speak with your therapist to prescribe the BEST option for you... It is available for a reason!)
** 1 & 2 tend to work best when done together, in order to TREAT this fear. Also there are 2 types of Therapy for this Fear: EXPOSURE and COGNITIVE.
3) BE HONEST! You have to acknowledge that this fear is present. (Honesty helps in EVERY situation!)
4) EDUCATE YOURSELF! Knowledge is power when it comes to conquering ANY fear! (Take a course or read a book about SAFETY on a plane!)
5) SET TRAVEL GOALS! Think of a place or person you want to visit. (Plan this trip, book your flight and GET ON THAT PLANE!)
6) ASK FOR HELP! There is no reason you should SLAY this fear alone. (You will be surprised how many people share this fear with you!)
