The Decision: Part Two

May 18, 2020

Hey Pie-O-Neers ™! Happy Monday! How was everyone’s weekend? I hope everyone was able to spend time with their families as well as have some “Me Time”! I know I did, because that is important and so very necessary. As promised in last weeks “Making Sense Mondays ™ ” segment, I am back to fill you in on the decision I made. So let’s get into it!

Here I was pregnant and I am not for certain that I wanted to go through with this pregnancy nor keep the baby for all of the reasons I mentioned last week… however, I recall telling my Grandfather that I was pregnant and explaining to him how I was feeling and all of my doubts and fears. In a loving tone, my Grandfather began to explain to me, that I was not the first girl that this had happened to and I certainly would not be the last. He told me I had a decision to make and whatever decision I made, it would not be right or wrong, however it would need to be a decision that I could live with it.

Now as I am telling you this story, it reminds me of another woman in the same situation (of being pregnant that is). As well as having similar doubts and fears. Let’s go back to Mary the Mother of Jesus. Now let me make it clear, I am by no stretch of the imagination comparing myself or my situation to Jesus’s Mother, however, I can only imagine how she went back and forth with God telling him all the reasons why she did not want to give birth to a baby and not just any baby, but baby Jesus at that! Are you kidding me? “The Savior of the World”! Nope, I don’t want that burden or responsibility! It was too much to bear, but on the other hand, I can hear God speaking to her and giving her comfort, just as my Grandfather did with me.

Just like myself and all of the other mothers in the world, Mary made the decision that she would carry that baby for nine long months and birth that human into this world. It didn’t matter what backlash she was going to get from the gossipers. It didn’t matter what hard times she would fall upon trying to raise and support the child. Nor did she think about all the disrespect and selfishness she might have received from the child. She, Me, We made the decision to become Mothers and for that reason alone we should be celebrated all the time.

There you go Pie-O-Neers ™... Love on your Mothers as much as possible! I am Meringue Love™ and we will see you back here next week.

The Decision: Part One

May 12, 2020

Hey Pie-O-Neers ™! How are you today? Come on in here and take a seat! I have a slice of Humble Pie for you to eat!

It makes me very proud to introduce to you one of our many segments here at The Humble Pie Blog. The name of this segment is called “Making Sense Mondays ™” with none other than your girl, Ms. Meringue Love ™! Yayyyyyyyyy! Yasssssssss! Get it Girl! (Yes, I have learned to encourage myself). In this segment, I will serve you a slice of Humble Pie which includes my thoughts, opinions, insight, wisdom and FACTS about everything going on in today’s crazy world.

Since we just celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday, this week will be dedicated to Mothers. So let’s get into it and let me give you my thoughts on this holiday.

I personally think that Mothers should be celebrated 365 days a year (which means every second, every minute, every hour, every day). Do you celebrate your Mother every second, every minute, every hour, and every day? Well, that's another conversation and another slice of pie for another day.

Now back to what I was originally saying, I am bias because I am a Mother, but I also came from a Mother, but didn't we all! It is a fact that if it had not been for our Mothers, none of us would even exist.

What are you saying Meringue Love? Let me be honest with you, or as the older Pie-O-Neers say “Keeping it real” or how our younger Pie-O-Neers say “Keepin’ it one hunnit”! When I found out I was pregnant with my firstborn, I did not want to keep it, for many reasons such as:

1) It was my very first time having sex and it was a horrible experience!

2) I got pregnant and was SCARED TO DEATH and didn’t have a clue about what to do!

3) The “Sperm Donor” treated me like crap and I didn’t know if I wanted to keep it or not.

Now as sure as my name is Meringue Love ™, I am positive that a lot of Mothers have had similar feelings and can feel my pain, but you will have to tune in to find out what happens next.
