Let Me Introduce Myself
May 8, 2020
Who Am I? That is a loaded question and a question that we all ask ourselves at one point or another. However, not too often do people asked this question and respond back with a loaded answer. You see initially my plan was to say, “Hello my name is Meringue Love and I am.....and I have.....and I went to...... and I earned......etc. etc.” you get the picture, right! But then I asked myself, how can you be the creator of a blog called "The Humble Pie Blog" and give such an upright, straight forward response? Well, the answer to that question was "I can't’!
You see when we meet others we never introduce to them who we really are. We introduce our "Representative" and present all of these great attributes about ourselves or tell of all of our wonderful accomplishments. But we never tell them anything that might generate a bad taste in that person’s mouth or cause them to look at us in a not so pleasant way. So with that being said let me introduce to you who I really am.
I am a person who grew up with a Mother that loved me; I am also a person who had a very absent Mom.
I am a person who adored and admired their Father; I am also a person whose Dad did not support them in any way possible.
I am a person who loves to learn and gets straight A’s in school; I am also a person who did not graduate on time.
I am a person who has been an advocate against drug use; I am also a person who has used drugs.
I am a person who has been a foster parent; I am also a person who was a foster child.
I am a person who has had thousands of dollars in multiple bank accounts; I am also a person who has written bad checks.
I am a person who has had a beautiful home; I am also a person that has been evicted and homeless.
I am a person who has purchased brand new cars; I am also a person who has had their car repossessed.
I am a person who has left a relationship; I am also a person who has begged another to be in a relationship with me.
I am person that has been abused; I am also a person who was the abuser.
I am a person who has been happily married (so I thought); I am also a person who has gone through a terrible divorce.
I am a person who has been lied to, stolen from and cheated on; I am also a person who has been the liar, thief and cheater.
Needless to say, I am Meringue Love ™. A person who has been through and continues to go through way more humbling experiences than I care to admit. However, my hope and prayer is that by creating this blog, being transparent and sharing with you who I am and my experiences, I can help you discover who you truly are and also help you recognize when a humbling experience has presented itself to you.
